Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy massage is an oil-based treatment which used a mix of light, soothing strokes, lymphatic drainage and acupressure. Although the massage is much lighter in pressure than sports and deep tissue, it can be as curative as the essential oils permeate into the bloodstream via the hair follicles, pores and lymph nodes, then mix with your body’s hormones, enzymes and neurotransmitters to alleviate dis-ease.

This ancient treatment, dating back as far as 3,500BC, utilizes essential oils which are extracted from plants, flowers and herbs to treat the body holistically.

Benefits:
Aromatherapy can be used to tackle most ailments, in particular the therapy is highly effective at combating mental health issues as many of the oils possess an anxiolytic (anxiety relieving) effect. Generally speaking, there’s an oil for almost everything, incorporating all of the body’s systems inclusive of; musculoskeletal issues, hormone imbalances, reproductive issues, lymphatic disorders, immunodeficiencies, digestive issues, respiratory issues, circulatory issues and skin ailments.

Timings:
30 / 45 / 60 minutes
The session can either be delivered as a one-off treatment or if there are specific health issues to manage, aromatherapy can be used in sequential sessions until resolution is obtained.

A good example would be a potent mixture of oils specifically blended for increased focus in the run-up to a project deadline. Similarly, a balancing, soothing blend as a team reward following a big win or project completion.

Please note: Allergies will be taken into account before each individual treatment. Most of the oil will have been worked into the skin, however a little residue may remain. It is highly recommended to allow the essential oils to sink into your skin post-treatment in order for the oils to work effectively (i.e. not wiped off) – please take this into account with regards to clothing on the day.

Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage

Oil-based Swedish (therapeutic and relaxing), deep tissue (firmer pressure) and sports (very deep white-knuckle), massages target postural, stress and tension-related ailments associated with long hours performing a repetitive task, for example all day on your feet or behind a desk.

The practitioner will focus the treatment on specific areas of discomfort, pain or soreness (e.g., back, neck, shoulders) by applying varying degrees of pressure and strokes into the muscles.

Benefits:
The benefits of receiving a massage are not limited to: boosting circulation, assisting in flushing lymph, reducing inflammation and high blood pressure, activating the body’s parasympathetic nervous system which can lead to the alleviation of anxiety as well as the release of endorphins and serotonin.

Timings:
30 / 45 / 60 minutes on a massage therapy table

Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive, foot massage treatment aimed to promote energetic and physical balance in the body. Based on the Chinese meridian system, reflexology reflects your body’s organs on the soles of your feet. The practitioner then runs through a gentle yet relaxing soothing sequence of pressure point touches and strokes.

Lying comfortably on a zero-gravity chair with only your feet exposed, this treatment is an ideal alternative to consider to regular massage.

Please note: Reflexology is not a tool to diagnose medical conditions and should not replace any pre-existing medical care.

Benefits:
Promotes a deep sense of calm and wellbeing. Good for stressed or anxious people who otherwise don’t enjoy other massage treatments.

Timings:
30 – 45 minutes

Tuina Massage

Pronounced twee-na, this fully-clothed, non-invasive ancient Chinese system of massage is based on the same principles as acupuncture by applying varying pressure, movements and manipulations of soft tissue along the body’s meridians and acupressure points in order to stimulate blocked Qi (energy).

The treatment can be booked either on a massage table or massage chair and can range from softer more-relaxing treatment to a deeper more stimulating treatment depending on what is required by the recipient at that time.

Benefits:
Promotes balance within the body’s system. Improved energy, vitality, focus and attention. Boost to circulation. Relief in tension and stress-related conditions. Restore optimum function to muscles and joints.

Timings:
20 – 60 minutes
